Job Title: Part-Time Farm Educator
Barefoot Acres is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Farm Educator. As a Farm Educator, you will be responsible for leading engaging and educational field trips, instructing basic planting techniques, facilitating plant identification activities, and introducing fundamental survival skills to participants of all ages. Responsibilities:
Lead interactive and educational field trips for diverse groups, including schools, community organizations, and families.
Instruct participants on basic planting techniques, fostering an understanding of sustainable farming practices.
Conduct plant identification sessions, sharing knowledge about local flora and their ecological significance.
Integrate basic survival skills into educational programs, promoting outdoor education and connection with nature.
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors, ensuring a positive and memorable experience. Requirements:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of farming practices, including planting, cultivation, and sustainable agriculture.
2. Strong ability to engage and educate diverse audiences, from children to adults, in an outdoor setting.
3. Familiarity with local plant species and the ability to convey information effectively to participants.
4. Basic understanding of survival skills and the ability to teach foundational concepts to participants.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position is part-time, and hours may vary based on scheduled field trips and educational programs.
